How do I get enough calcium being dairy free?

Dairy, dairy everywhere!

The hype with documentaries like Forks over Knives and the dairy free movement (which I'm a big fan of) leaves a lot of you looking for alternative ways to get that 1000mg of calcium daily.

Below are some dairy free options:

Almond milk contains about 45% of your daily calcium needs in 1 cup and only 95 calories.

Tofu contains over 40% of your daily calcium needs in just half a cup. Not bad for 95 calories.

Okra contains 12% of your daily calcium needs in just in 1 cup cooked 35 calories.

Collard greens contains 27% of your daily calcium needs in just 1 cup cooked at 65 calories.

Spinach contains 25% of your daily calcium needs in just 1 a cup cooked at 41 calories.

Flax milk contains 30% of your daily calcium needs in just 1 cup at 25 calories if you get the unsweetened kind.

A lot of recipes on this site contain the above ingredients. Another way you Jazzy Gurl looks out for you!
